Drug and Alcohol Policy

It is the policy of Caillou Island Towing & Al Cenac Towing, LLC., in accordance with 18 U.S.C. 2277; 49 U.S.C. 781 and 1472 to absolutely prohibit the use, possession or transportation of illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, alcoholic beverages or firearms on our facility and vessels. In addition, any designer “club” drugs, or misused substances not intended for human consumption are prohibited.

For your protection and for the protection of others with whom you will be working, you are requested to submit your personal belongings and all items carried upon for inspection at any time, either at the worksite or upon boarding transportation in route to or from worksite. If any above-named items or other items prohibited aboard company vessels or facilities are found or if you refuse to submit to a search of yourself and/or your effects, you will be denied access and will be subject to immediate termination.

Furthermore, Caillou Island Towing & Al Cenac Towing, LLC. reserves the right to have any employee tested for presence of drugs and/or alcohol by any accepted test method including but not limited to urinalyses and/or blood testing in the following instances:

​

  • In connection with pre-employ physical examination

  • Any and/or all crew members or employees who sustain a personal injury on the job and/or all crew members and/or employees working with employee sustaining a personal injury.

  • All employees or crew members in any way involved in an incident where damage has been sustained to company owned or operated equipment or vessels.

  • Upon reasonable suspicion of the possession, use or transportation of illegal drugs or alcoholic beverages any and/or all the employees and/or crew members onboard the vessel may be requested to submit to testing.

Safety and Health Policy

Caillou Island Towing & Al Cenac Towing, LLC. is committed to safety in all phases of our operation. We fully comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Every Caillou Island Towing & Al Cenac Towing, LLC. employee is expected to give his or her full support to promote the safety of our people, equipment, and the environment.

We believe that all accidents and incidents are preventable by establishing rules, safe working procedures and training requirements. Preventing accidents and incidents will prevent injuries and death. All Caillou Island Towing & Al Cenac Towing, LLC. employees have the opportunity and responsibility to protect themselves, the environment, and customers equipment for which they are responsible for.

We expect to maintain efficiency in our daily operations by doing every job safely and correctly the first time. Safety policies and procedures are always subject to amendment or revision. If an employee has a suggestion for a better way, they are encouraged to share and discuss. Employee participation and buy in is a key element to a productive safety management plan.

Security Policy

Caillou Island Towing & Al Cenac Towing, LLC. is committed to the security of our personnel, towing vessels, barges, facilities, and the environment in which we operate.

 

In accordance with the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002, Caillou Island Towing & Al Cenac Towing, LLC. complies with USCG security regulations covering Caillou Island Towing & Al Cenac Towing, LLC. Vessels.

 

Vessel Security Plans, which implement the American Waterways Operators Alternative Security Program, provide the security measures for Caillou Island Towing & Al Cenac Towing, LLC.'s vessels and operations.

 

These procedures are in place to detect, deter, delay, and defend against acts of terrorism against Caillou Island Towing & Al Cenac Towing, LLC.'s operations.

Environmental Policy

Caillou Island Towing & Al Cenac Towing, LLC. is committed to good stewardship of the environment and is dedicated to being in full compliance with all environmental laws and regulations. Management and employees of Caillou Island Towing & Al Cenac Towing, LLC. are committed to continuously improving the compatibility of our operations with environment.   • Commit to reduce overall emissions and waste generation, and comply with all laws and regulations concerning emissions and waste

  • Participate with government and the public in creating responsible laws and regulations and standards to safeguard the workplace, community, and environment.

  • Establish and maintain, in cooperation with public authorities and others, contingency procedures and plans to mitigate the effects of accidents which may occur.
